The Holy Greek Empire was formed Jan. 27, 1 A.U. The new government faced few problems, with all other nations too disorganized or exhausted to fight. The Greek way of life spread quickly, because the rest of the planet had just discovered any form of stable governing systems, and nationalism hadnt developed yet. Also, the new ideas of democracy and free speech that flowed from Athens and the rest of Greece helped win over even the most stubborn of nonconformists.

With the entire planet at relative peace, the New World economy prospered, science and technology blossomed, and the worlds inhabitants globalized quickly. By 453 A.U., gunpowder was developed as an explosive for mining. Paper, movable type, and printing were discovered in 632 A.U., 836 A.U., and 871 A.U. respectively. Calculus had been put together by the foremost research laboratories on Ionia, an island in the Aegean Sea, around 670 A.U. Penicillin was discovered in 1216 A.U., allowing immunizations to help slow the spread of the Black Plague in 1348. Increased public awareness and support for the doctors researching the disease helped to stem panic and widespread revolt.

In 1433 A.U., the theory of biological evolution and the discovery of the steam engine placed greater public support in science and technology then ever before. This caused the government to peacefully revolutionize to a representative republic. Also, the new government was known as the Global Compact, to symbolize planetary unity over Greek superiority.

During genetic experiments in the late 1600s, a researcher discovered a new type of gene, which allowed the host a symbiotic relationship with certain physical conditions. These genes were cataloged into four groups: Earth, fire, water, and wind, after the four elements originally thought to compose all matter. These genes also allowed their hosts to become ageless, and retain physical form around the age of twenty Earth Standard Years or so. (This hypothesis had been disproven in 1542, with the new Atomic Theory) However, the Element of Shadow was eventually added after a man known as Crono Blackwood was discovered to have a new variant of the "Elemental gene".

This gene mutation had been found in over 400 subjects, splitting relatively equally among the four elements. These gifted young subjects were given governmental supervision to develop their new "powers". (For information on Elementals, see Appendix IV, the military structure of the Elemental Order) With advanced technology and their elemental powers, the Elemental Order slowly grew large enough to take over as the official military of the Global Compact. (Elementals learned how to control the elements using words and willpower, much like magic.) Also, another advantage to having this gene is that the human bodys DNA repair enzymes are continually recharged and rebuilt, practically stopping the bodys process of aging, leaving the host at the physical age of 20 Earth years.

The Fundamentalist Imperium

During the age of Critical Conversion (see Appendix III, the Commonspeak), the majority of the planets population converted to Christianity. Of course, this was done at spearpoint, but no one bothered to mention that. After the New Fundamentalists took power, they made sure that the first thing to be established was the World Clergy. The Clergys mandate was to make sure that the entire planet was "basked in the shining light of our Lord as a pure example to our devoutness." (Pope George VII, World Clergy annual meeting, 1260 A.D.)

Now, the Fundamentalist Imperium is not actually composed of all Christians; during the Age of Critical Conversion, the Cardinals accepted a number of reforms within the Church to allow for wilful conversions, instead of ones where the only other option is death. These reforms included, but are not limited to:

• The Church imposing a minimum 45% income tax on all non-Clergy and non-aristocracy members
• The State imposing a 50% income tax on all non-Clergy and non-aristocracy members (this tax is complementary to above Church tax)
• Every town, village, hovel, etc. must have at least one central place of worship, pre-approved by the Central Vatican in Geneva, Switzerland
• All scientific research and discovery must be approved as "blessed" by the Church before it can be released into the public; any "secular and therefore sinful" discoveries must be destroyed and all related discoveries must also be destroyed
• Priests of the Church may have as many wives as he wants
• All women must be subservient to their husbands, and no woman may own land, raise children by herself, be employed, etc.
• All mass media must be carefully approved by Church censors

Because of the strict control of flow of information and complete distrust in "secular" science, scientific development lagged. By 2001 A.D., the majority of Humanity was still living in what could still be called a Dark Age of knowledge. Most cities were mud-strewn hovels with little or no sanitation. Most housing was slum-like. The fastest communication was carrier pigeon. The fastest transportation was horseback, and shipping was still done in caravels and other sail-powered vessels.

The Fundamentalist Armed Forces is also known as the Fundamentalist Faith-Holders. These men have been brought up since birth to become the fanatical warriors that are required to keep the planet under strict Fundamentalist control. The average soldier cannot read, write, or do any other kind of activity with the two exceptions of speaking and killing. (For more information on the Imperialist military, see Appendix V: The Military Structure of the Fundamentalist Faith-Holders)

The government of the Fundamentalist Imperium is a Fundamentalist Monarchy. That is, the control of the government is passed on hereditarily and the laws set in place cannot be changed, because they are tradition and must be obeyed in any situation. All laws have been past down from the original 105 Commandments set down by Moses, who supposedly carried them all down from Mt. Sinai.

Moses must have been working out.

Of course, some of the older men and women could have sworn that when they were children, there were fewer Commandments, but the Vatican has denied any charges.

Elemental Leader:

Few Elemental Leaders go into combat, but they are the most experienced fighters in the Compact, as well as the most knowledgeable. Possessing near absolute control over the element which they came from (e.g. An Elemental Leader of Earth), Leaders are the most powerful fighters in the Elemental Order.

Elemental:

Elementals love to fight. Competition (especially among other Elementals) is common, ranging from drinking contests (Fire Elementals usually cheat on that) to practice simulation matches pitting two Elemental forces against each other. Each Elemental usually has the personality of his/her element, for example:

• Earth Elementals tend to be dependable, efficient, and good listeners. Of course, they dont speak their mind or emotions that well, and dont take the initiative very often. Current Earth Elemental: Ann Sedwick. Elemental form: Earth Golem
• Fire Elementals are usually hotheaded, arrogant, selfish, and troublemakers. However, they make great friends, and are certainly fun loving. Many Fire Elementals have a tendency for alcohol, if for no other reason then to make a cool explosion when they spit it out and cast a fire spell. • Water Elementals tend to be rational, calm, and work well in stressful situations. Water Elementals, usually show a aura of quiet confidence. • Wind Elementals are usually aloof, and dont take much non-elemental business seriously. Wind Elementals, much like their Fire Brothers and Sisters, like to enjoy the "finer things in life" and many happen to be considered some of the greatest lovers in the compact. These are the officers of the Compact Navy. This rank is broken up into six parts, with Sealubber Six being the highest and Sealubber One being the lowest. Technically, there is no Compact Navy, but Elementals need naval transport, so there still is an Elemental Navy. Like its name suggests, the Navy is under direct Elemental control. Most Sealubbers are Water Elementals.

Lower ranks are determined by a base six system, with Initiate One being the lowest and Initiate Six being the highest. Next is Acolyte One to Acolyte Six and so on. To pass from a lower rank Six to a higher rank One, a test must be taken in the realms of Physical Prowess, Mental Discipline, and Elemental Understanding. The final Initiate Test contains a Physical Prowess Test, while the final Acolyte Test contains a Mental Discipline as well as a Physical Prowess Test, and the final Reasonist Test contains all three. After all three have been passed, the soldier can then choose one of the paths listed above, all of which have their own chain of command, as determined by the ranking soldier in that branch.

Governmental Ranks and Positions:

The Pope is the Kingpriest who governs all of the known world. His holy military protects and blesses all who accept the truth of the Christan teachings.

The Pope is responsible and in charge of all aspects of governing the world. To alleviate the immense task, he have a vast amount of Cardinals and Archbishops to take care of the minor details, the paperwork, and many other things that the Pope just cannot concern himself with.

In spite of his position as the leader of God's glorious armies on earth, he frequently passes off the hard work and strategy to people who are better schooled in such matters. For example, Templar Knights (see below) or some of the local lords. As long as they believe in the right God, there is no reason not to use them.

As a man of God cannot dirty his hands with the blood of infidels by leading a campaign against them, the Pope concentrates on communing with God and bringing his will on to the people. His daily "discussions" with God are usually done via the smoking of certain leaves and other assorted "enlightenment" substances resereved for clergy members.

The next Pope is chosen from birth by his predecessor. Many things have to be in alignment to be right; the child have to be born on the same date as the Lord, the saviour of the Imperium. He has to be from the right family with a proper bloodline, not sullied by inbreeding, bastardly or 'outlandish' blood. As a result, many noble families have huge birthday celebrations in November, December and January, seeing as many vie to get their son on the Papal throne. Those who are not chosen as Pope mostly becomes Paladins or Templar knights if they have no part of the family heritage.

Cardinalic Representative:

These are the representatives of the different Cardinal-councils around the known world. Each country is governed by a senate of Cardinals elected from among the local clergy and a gathering of Bishops. The Cardinalic representatives then act as the Prime Ministers of the different countries, bringing the matters of the people before the Pope to recieve the judgement of God through the holy courts, which are usually subject to bribes, if the defendant has enough wealth to be innocent of Gods wrath.

Cardinalic Representatives must be of noble blood to be pure enough to stand before God's incarnation upon earth, his holiness, the Pope.

Cardinals are either nobles or clergymen. The Senate of Cardinals takes care of the fine matters of the governing of their respective countries. Also, they pass on Edicts from the Pope and act as judges in internal matters of the state and the clergy.

Archbishop:

The Archbishop is the leader of the gathering of Bishops. He brings in the relevant matters to the Senate of Cardinals for them to decide whether it is worth using their precious time on, and maybe pass on to the Pope, or whether they should have the person who came up with the heretic proposal tortured and purified by fire.

Archbishops are either nobles or clergymen, and as such its possible to bribe the Archbishops for ones life should this third option be chosen.

Bishop:

Bishops take care of the matters of the common people. They serve as judges of the high court where nobles bring their cases forth to be righteously judged.

They are usually composed of clergymen, but from time to time, a Cardinal can be demoted to the rank of Bishop as a way of correcting his ways when he strays from the path of light. In other words, if he gets caught doing something he shouldnt, he gets demoted.

Priest:

A priest is a true man of God. To the people he is second to the Pope and third to God. Most priests are not overly concerned with the Edicts of the church and some have even been known to donate some of their income to the people of their parish, in clear violation of Church Edict, which forbids such blantant and wasteful actions.

Priests are, like Preachers, mostly from the ranks of commoners. Some of them are orphans who were brought up by the church. This makes them immensely loyal to the church, but their heritage also give them an increased awareness of the limitations there can be to The Edicts. Priests are not as free-spoken as Monks or Friars, but they have been known to help out the occasional group of homeless people with housing. Again, this is in clear violation of the Church Edicts.

Priest are the caste from which most people are executed for heretic ways, yet they are not under as strict a supervision as one might think.

Preacher:

These are the sayers of the law. The Preachers announce the Edicts of the Pope, the Senate of Cardinals and the gathering of Bishops to the masses. These announcements are either done in the town square or in the church. These are commoners who have had training in the matters of the clergy and more than the basic schooling that the monestaries offer. Preachers also say mass from time to time, when the Priests have other things to attend to, such as attending to their wives.

Friar:

These are the preachers of the monestaries. They also function as headmasters of the monestary schools. They are Monks who rise to a new post and a monestary might have as many as ten Friars. They also function as a part of the Fundamentalist army, blessing the troops when they go off to battle for the glory of God.

Monk:

These people are the teachers and doctors of the Imperium. The monks are highly skilled in herbal lore and are always willing to pass on the teachings of benificial medicine to people. They also teach the commoners and their children how to read in the monestary school. Because the knowledge they are passing on is endorsed by the Church and is "blessed", its allowed. The commoners recieve a small amount of gold each year to make up for the lost income, and their children are always more than welcome to become Acolytes and train to become Monks, Friars or Priests.

Acolyte:

These are young men who are accepted into the orders of Monks. They are mostly orphans or from extremely poor families who have had to sell their children into slavery or the Church. They retake their vows each year to remind their still-weak souls of the commitment they have accepted before God. As with the Priests, Preachers, Friars and Monks, only commoners exist within these orders, as aristocrats are too "superior" for these lower classes. Also, many of the lower classes speak Greek, while the aristocracy and higher clergy speak Latin. Acolytes may be on trial for two years before they decide whether or not they have what is neccesary to become servants of their Lord.

Military Ranks and Positions:

Cardinal Lord:

These are the representatives of the Senate of Cardinals, and as such, they are responsible for pointing out the targets of God's righteous wrath and they also control the Fanatics in combat. How they do that is a well-kept secret that only Cardinals and a few Archbishops know of. But it exerts tremendous pressure on their minds and bodies, and from time to time the representative Archbishop-General must step in to alleviate the pressure by joining in.

Archbishop-General:

These are the true leaders of the Fundamentalist armies. The Archbishop-Generals are always chosen from the ranks of the Knights Templar and only people of noble blood can have the post. They are able to employ clerical spells and call down the power of God with the motion of a hand and archaic language, much like their Elemental counterparts. Some of them even know how to control the Fanatics and have developed minor mentalic abilities as a result. These abilites can thwart even some low-level mentalics of the Second Foundation, but this has never been proven. Most of the Archbishop-Generals can also communicate mentally with their Lieutenants and Captains. This is considered another gift God bestows on those fortunate enough to become the leader of his country's armies.

Some of these Generals ride onto the field with their men to bolster the morale, but they mostly stay on a nearby vantage-point, directing the army by communicating with the different leaders of the combat-groups. This is done mentally, of course.

Their background as Knights Templar also breed fanaticism not unlike that of the brutes under their command and some Archbishop-Generals have lost their head in the righteous blood-haze from time to time. To put it mildly...

Lord:

These are outside contractors in a manner of speaking. They step in whenever the Fundamentalist armies do not. They recieve a contigent of men from a nearby Fundamentalist Army-group to bolster their ranks, and then they are given a target.

Lords are much like mercenaries, and these non-clergy-members of the aristocracy are often frowned upon for their pragmatic outlook, but recognized for their usefulness. The fact that they pay very generous amounts to the Vatican out of their free will, in addition to the many noble maidens who become the concubines of the Cardinalic Representatives and even better, the Pope.

Paladin:

These are, with the exception of the Fanatic soldiers, the most zealous troops of the Fundamentalist armies. They are commoners who are taken in by the military orders of Monks who then train them in the arts of war. They are among the most powerful soldier-groups in the army. A Paladin can easily go one-on-one with a Fanatic and limp away with injuries that are not life-threatening or result in crippling. They train with clerical magic and weapons from when they are able to comprehend the commands that the Monks issue. Their blessed swords are able to cut through any known alloys and their war-horses are the envy of even the Knights Templar.

Knight Templar:

The Knights Templar are the highly skilled group-leaders that lead the men onto the field, following the strategies of the Archbishop-general. They are noble sons who are either disowned or have no part of the family heritage. They are usually very intelligent and cunning warriors, and along with their formidable weapons-skills, imaginative thinking and clear-headed focus, they are quite a rarity in the Imperium. Some families have long traditions within the Templar orders and many employ Paladins as weapons masters to train their sons in the art of furthering God's words.

Squire:

These are young commoners or nobles aspiring to either the rank of Paladin or Knight Templar. They wait on the knights and learn from them, in addition to recieving actual combat experience.

War-Friar:

These Friars are experts on ways to use offensive clerical magic. They are widely feared for their zeal and ability to focus in a task with incredible single-mindedness. They are also called the 'evil twins' of the ordinary Friars and Monks.

Fanatic:

These are the most fanatical, illiterate, unintelligent, most blindly following soldiers in the entire Imperium military. Then again, Fanatics are the only military unit in the Imperium military. Possessing only the skills of conversing and killing, these soldiers are also known as the "bringer of Gods justice" and for a very good reason. The average Fanatic is over 4.7 meters tall (14 feet) and has an average build twice that of a grizzly bear. Being able to bench press (this is a hypothetical example; the Imperium doesnt have the technology needed to create metal that concentrated or tough) well over one standard ton (1.6 metric tons). Also, fanatics are able to punch through solid titanium alloy (again, assuming they have the technology needed to produce that, which they dont) is only part of their strength.

Fanatics are tough to kill. It takes a standard-issue Compact laser rifle over twelve shots to take a Fanatic to the ground, and over twenty to kill them. Their fanatical devotion to the Vatican and their Faith makes them so incredibly single-minded that their brains have long lost all nerves and their bodies are filled with human growth hormone (accounting for their size), adrenaline, and endorphins. This makes them impervious to pain, fear, and indecision.

The average Fanatic lives approximately twenty-five years of age before death. This death is usually attributed to exhaustion or adrenaline/endorphin related poisonings.

The Prussian Regency

This scenario is another possible deviant Earth. The divergence occurs in the years 1871-1873, during the Franco-Prussian War in Europe. In this deviant, France defeats Prussia, which now finds its Western expansion cut off. Its military leadership humiliated and fearing a popular revolution, the military quickly regroups and invades the weaker countries of Austria-Hungary, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, and Russia. Of these five countries, only Switzerland and Russia escape Prussian invasion; the former due to English and French protests, and the latter due to its vast size. The other three countries were annexed to the growing Prussian Empire, which has by now emerged as a super-nation-state.

Otto Von Bismarck, the Prime Minister and true ruler of the Prussian Empire behind puppet Kaiser Vilhelm I, steps up Prussian infrastructure construction (economy, railroads, etc.) to unify the new countries under Prussian military rule. This construction, while originally only thought for military purposes, helps to unify the new Prussian state and speed the transportation of food, supplies, and other staples to the new territories, creating a population and economic boom that leaves Prussia even more powerful then ever before.

In 1895, flush with its massive military and economy, Prussia uses Italy as a springboard to attack Spain and Portugal, who, both weak militarily, fall under the invading armies. The British and French, fearing the Prussian menace, try to appease the burgeoning monster by giving up the countries in hopes of filling up the German appetite for conquest. Unfortunately, this only whetted the Prussian appetite, as they successfully invaded France from the South and North on December 31^st, 1914. The startled French, who had beaten back the Prussians only twenty years before, found themselves conquered within a month.

Meanwhile, the British found themselves the last power to stand against the Prussians in Europe. Their navy, while unbeaten on the seas, was not powerful enough to blockade the entire Prussian Empire, now controlling most of Europe and the formidable Mediterranean Sea. However, their attempt at a blockade stretched their naval protection around their small island thin at best, defenseless at worst. In the relatively peaceful year of 1916, the United States demanded a warrior for a leader, and chose the warhawk Roosevelt over the hesitant Wilson. This apparent anti-Prussian movement from the United States spurred the Prussian military into action, moving the bulk of their forces to crush England and fortify Europe against any United States intervention.

The gambit worked. The British naval lines had been stretched thin from the blockade, and so the smaller, yet more concentrated Prussian navy and transports blasted through the British defenses and slaughtered the army. Without the aid of radar or advanced aerial defense that helped them in World War II on our world, the British fell; with them, all organized resistance in Europe. With the European mother countries conquered, their holdings fell under Prussian control as well: India and most of Africa from England and Denmark, and Southeast Asia and the other half of Africa from France and Italy. The Pan-European Empire had now been established.

Fifteen years of licking wounds was in order. The Prussians built up the infrastructure of their empire, developing the economies and the railroads to hurry troop movement, while the United States, more isolationist than ever, retreated from its former European allies and helped build up Latin America to help defend itself, should the need ever arise. The funds originally meant for Europe aided Latin America to develop and become a helpful and willing ally to its Northern neighbor. This policy is continued by the isolationist FDR in 1930, after the fateful American Stock Market Crash.

The Pan-European Economy, by contrast, had already broken itself off from the crashing American economy, and remained strong. In 1933, not having been driven from Germany by some kind of holocaust, the head scientist of the Pan-Euro Empires weapons development program helped develop atomic weaponry for the Europeans. This terrible weapon was soon put to use, as atomic missles peppered various cities in the Middle East, reducing them to rubble. When asked why the bulk of the population of the extreme region had been slaughtered, Vilhelm III simply said, "The European people must place the strength and safety of the state over any religiousdistraction". The surviving Middle Eastern states, cowering in submission, eagerly let themselves be annexed to the Pan-European Empire. Quickly, with most of the worlds oil under their control, the Europeans embargoed sale to both the Americans, Russians, and Japanese, the last three great powers left to stand against the European advance.

By 1935, Japan and China had ceased their fighting to stop the Europeans, who had just successfully invaded a weakened Russia. Ten years later, Japan made a secret pact with the Europeans to secure its own safety. These provisions included the European capture of China, in exchange for: a 50-year non-aggression pledge, food and oil trade with Europe, and no European troops in Japanese-controlled areas. Japan eventually independently discovered the atomic bomb, creating any chance of an invasion too costly to fathom.

Meanwhile, in the Western Hemisphere, the Pan-American Alliance had been founded, uniting the entire hemisphere under American rule. The Americans, deprived of European oil, had soon been pressed to discover alternative sources, which made themselves known in natural and methane gas. This helped the American economy recover, and a planned economy spurred the growth of the entire West.

Back East, the Europeans werent willing to give up on Japan so easily. Through bribery, back-door deals, and a powerful spy network, Japan quickly fell under a military coup in 1950. During the chaos, the Europeans moved in. The stage was set for a Cold War between West and East. A new Cold War deserved a new name for the Eastern power, which became known as the Eastern Hemisphere Federation. The West became the Western Hemisphere Dominion.

The Cold War didnt last very long, however. A dispute in Alaska over international waters provoked the EHS military into invading the Western powers. As per their plans, the WHD launched all of its nuclear arsenal at strategic EHS cities, expecting to go down fighting. However, at the last moment, every single WHD missile was shot down by the new EHS missile-defense system.

The Western Powers could only watch in horror as the last bastion of resistance to the Eastern Powers fell to overwhelming force.

The Prussian Regency, the new World Government and a salute to the country that had started the world to a new direction of military conquest, had now been established.

Yet another Earth, slightly different than our own. The divergence here is in 1901, during the McKinley assassination. Or, to be more precise, the lack of a McKinley assassination. In this timeline, the Republican pro-business President never was shot down by an anarchist: here, he and his policies of laissez-faire business thrived. The Attorney General, when asked about his enforcement of the soon-to-be-repealed Sherman Anti-Trust Act, said that "It shall be the policy of this administration to protect free enterprise and the capitalist system against any assault from without or subversion from within".

Vice-President Theodore Roosevelt was forgotten, his deeds in the Spanish-American War lost to the short attention span of public memory. Without Roosevelts leadership, the Progressive Movement died in its infancy, isolated to a few states with reform-minded Governors. Unfortunately, those isolated experiments themselves quickly died off after the trust leaders purposely fired thousands of employees in the Progressive states, stirring popular resentment against any Progressive attempts. These protests, fueled by trust money, became regular occurrences outside the Capitol and the White House. These protestors/lobbyists, despite their claims of government interference (despite all attempts by the Government to the contrary) succeeded in turning public opinion against the Government and towards Business, which had already encouraged people to stop paying their taxes to preserve the evil institution. When the Federal Government moved troops to enforce paying taxes under the Force Act, the pro-business media jumped on this as another federal attempt to control the publics lives.

In 1905, the first New York Convention was held. The Mission Statement was the following: How to negotiate how to keep the obtrusive Government Invasive Assaults on Private Property to a minimum. Of course, that was simply rhetoric to keep the public distracted from the real goal: to strike the final blow to the crippled federal government. The effects of these conference achieved just that: it weakened any possibility of government regulation, strengthened corporate control of public policy, and tilted public opinion more towards the trusts.

To help achieve these goals, Wall Street stockbrokers devalued federal bonds, further decreasing any chance of government revenue. In turn, the federal government had little chance of hiring any employees or enticing others to run for federal positions.

Five years later, 1910, the Federal Government of the United States of America declared bankruptcy. The trust leaders, seizing the opportunity, organized a new governing body over all of business, naming it America, Inc. A new era for a "Corporate Republic" had come, as Chairman of the Board John D. Rockefeller said to millions on January 1^st, 1911. This new experiment in Corporate Government was based on the following principles:

• No government restrictions on business (such as minimum wages, regulations for safety or worker hours, benefits, etc.)
• The legality of any and all business practices in order to ensure profits (trusts, monopolies, etc.)
• The "Gospel of Wealth" as preached by Andrew Carnegie: the rich were pre-ordained by God because they were the only people who could be trusted with wealth
• Economic autocracy ensures rubber-stamp efficiency

Despite these egregious and unethical rules, they were successful in crushing any economic competition. European businesses were soon crushed, forcing the countries to become dependent on American-produced goods. In order to combat the purposeful rise in prices that is followed by any monopoly, the European governments attempted to subsidize the prices, easing the value on the consumer. The America, Inc. response to this was simply to raise prices higher still, bankrupting the governments. By 1920, Euro-American Enterprises had formed as an expanded Corporate Republic. However, the more popular name for the EAE in the rest of the world was the "White Boys Club". However, just like in what became the Prussian Regency, much of the planet that had been under European rule had fallen under EAE rule as well.

The Corporate Fist was not to be stopped at the Western Powers, however. By 1922, the thirst for new markets had led to the next logical place, China. With its massive population, the capitalist power had set its eyes on the population as a viable place for new Incorporated Industry to boom, not to mention the added bonus of bankrupting the government and moving in with the Corporate Republic as the Incorporated Monster had done with Europe.

China, however, was in no mood to admit the monopolistic invaders. When advisors came to the shores of China to spread the capitalist "freedom to travel and establish free markets", Chinese officials resisted, going as far as executing the leader of the invaders, John D. Rockefeller II. The EAE, angered by the death of the son of one of its founders, quickly dispatched security forces to avenge Rockefellers death. When asked what he thought of the current situation, Chairman Henry Ford said of Rockefeller, "This martyr was slain by evil, anti-capitalist barbarians who jeopardize the intrinsic right of good and decent men to pursue free enterprise".

The mandate of the security forces was to enforce the transformation of China to a free and open market to protect the lives of EAE citizens living there. In 1930, under military and economic threat, the Chinese government was dismantled. The non-EAE members, recognizing the power of the EAE, quickly banded together to oppose the Evil Capitalists.

By 1931, two World Powers had emerged:

From 1931 to 1950, a Cold War emerged. The UDF were warily watching their borders for any incursion from the EAE/CFE security forces, while the latter were making their own subtle plans. For the two decades between 1930 and 1950, the CFE quietly slipped sleeper agents into the various UDF territories, bribing officials with high positions in future Corporate Boards, money, or anything that was necessary to sway the corrupt officials to side with the Coalition.

The bribery worked. Soon, there were various revolts and public opinion shifted towards the power of the Coalition. Once Japan fell in 1945, the other governments were quick to follow their corrupted comrade to the grave, with all nation-states that had opposed the Era of the Corporate Republic.

In 1950, the New World Corporate Republic had emerged, its center in the London Stock Exchange. In honor of the first Corporate Republic, the new Corporate Republic was named Earth, Inc.
