(Misatos apartment, 6:30 Ante Meridian)
"Shinji! WAKE UP!!!" Misato upon entering Shinjis room, was rather shocked considering the stuff that Shinji has unpacked into his room. But his lack of any kind of material possessions was just the icing of the cake. Shinji was sleeping standing up! Misato would have to ask him about this later.
Shinji woke up calmly, not shocked at all. "Good morning Misato. I know that it isnt my turn to make breakfast, but do you mind if I make it?"
What was very disturbing about Shinji was the fact that he volunteered to make breakfast! Misato had never heard a man who voluntarily wanted to make breakfast. Is my cooking really that bad? Misato snapped out of her phase just to see Shinji giving her a puzzled look.
"Are you okay, Misato? I was getting worried. Ill get right on it." He gave Misato a shy smile and walked into the kitchen. It took Misato about four minutes to recover. By that time, Shinji had finished his breakfast and hers was on the table in a very large glass filled with a thick liquid that looked like one of those protein drinks.
Shinji smiled. "I hope you like it, Misato. I have to go to school, so Ill see you later. " Shinji walked out the door, picking up his book bag on the way out. Misato looked at the thick, red liquid. Well, I suppose it wont hurt to try. She picked up the glass and drank. She smiled and a glint appeared in her eye. Shinji knows me already. It tastes like beer.

(Tokyo-3 Municipal High School)
Shinji entered the classroom. So this is where I am supposed to learn. Ha. I know tenfold what everyone in this class combined knows. Oh well. The First Speaker says I should "act natural", whatever that means. However, it seems that many more than what is expected constitutes the First Speakers interpersonal relations.
Shinji looked around. There were only a few students in the room, attempting to finish up their homework that they carelessly forgot to do. Shinji looked at the various seats, and noticed ones with nametags on them. He noticed Hikari Horaki. I must really get that intelligence file from the Security head on Horaki. Why do I keep putting that off? It couldnt be that I respect her privacy to that degreecould it? He noticed one empty seat, located near the back of the class, in the middle.
He sat down in it and took out some of the papers from some of his graduate students from Harvey Mudd University. As their teacher, I should keep up with what my students are doing. At the age of 12, Shinji became associate professor of advanced mathematics at Harvey Mudd University, second only to the First Speaker himself. Of course, he goes by his true name there, not by his Second Foundationer name of Crono Blackwood. It was not hard for him. He knew all the division heads. The First Speakers civil companion, Sheena El-Alfy (no false name there, he noted.) was the head of the psychology department. As he thought of the First Speakers "wife", he chuckled.
^You are not making fun of my civil companion, I hope, Shinji.^ There was Crono himself. That man always seemed to see what everyone was doing. ^Do not worry, First Speaker. I am not laughing at her.^ The response was immediate. ^She might think differently. Then you might really be in trouble.^
Shinji chuckled. He looked up. He had wasted three minutes on the papers he could have corrected. Shinji resumed his editing. The student whose paper he was currently checking on had much potential, he noted. The students mathematical abilities, though simple, could be veryelegant, given a little tweaking. Shinji began to evaluate the students paper, when a mental presence made itself known. Shinji looked up immediately. There she was. Hikari Horaki.
****************************************************************************
Hikari entered the classroom, thinking about Shinji Ikari. No, not thinking about;, enticed by Shinji Ikari. For the few moments they had looked each other eye to eye in the Eva hangar, with her pained, troubled, nervous look making contact with his calm, confident, radiant gaze sweeping over her, she felt something...warm and comforting sweep over her. There was no other way to describe it. She shook her head and noticed something. Through her one good eye, she saw him. Shinji Ikari. He was staring right at her, with eyes that seemed to pierce her.
They stood like that for several moments, before Shinji took the initiative. He stood up, walked over to Hikari, and put out his left hand. "It is good to see that you are all right, Hikari. I am glad to see you did not get injured during theincident."
Hikari looked into his eyes. Those brown pools of strength, showing compassion, confidence, and friendliness. She smiled. Things were beginning to look up.
****************************************************************************
~ Are you the robot pilot? Y/N ~ Shinji frowned. NERV security must be terrible if they allowed something important like that to get out. He sighed. ~ What makes you think that? ~ he replied. Looking back to his students paper, he mentally "sniffed" around the room. There was a general weariness around the room, mentally speaking. No one seemed interested in the teachers ramblings, which surprised Shinji. I was told that Japan has always had the most dedicated student body on this little ball of rock. Perhaps the societal degradation that the equations predict is finally coming to pass. Given the Antarctic ice caps melting, the psychological factors would predict an upsurge of societal unification, not the degradation that is occurring. I must remember to ask Sheena about this. Just when he thought that the teacher didnt pay any attention to him, the teacher was paying attention to him.
"What were the last four things I talked about, Mr. Ikari?" The teacher was giving him an annoyed look. Luckily, Shinji was able to multitask well. "Second Impact, the societal implications, the population decrease, and the upsurge of technology." The teacher grumbled and went back to the board, unable to get this new kid in line. Shinji smiled inwardly, but resumed his review of the paper he was reviewing. The calculus on this one looked exceptional, and Shinji knew he had seen it somewhere beforethat was it! The First Speaker had developed this mathematical "singularity loophole" to describe black hole behavior. This student must be brought to the First Speaker immediately.
However, Shinji could not get any further because the bell rang. The school day was over. Shinji closed up his folder, put it in his book bag, and stepped outside. He was on the way off the school grounds when he heard a shout.
"Shinji!" Hikari came running over to him. She handed him a stack of papers. "You forgot the homework." Shinji gave her the look of his that said this-is-so-beneath-me. He nodded his thanks. She began to turn away when he gained her attention through a nervous stutter that included her name. She turned toward him as he gave her a smile.
"H-Hikari, since we h-have synch tests now, w-would you l-like to accompany m-me?" Hikari smiled. She nodded with fervent approval, and they began to walk towards Hikaris house.
"Shinji, could I ask you something?" At his nod, she continued. "Do you think the next Angel will be harder?" He turned toward her and gave her a full look of confidence that Hikari had not noticed when they first met in the Eva hangar. "I guess, but I think well do OK." Hikari failed to reply, and Shinji expected none.
****************************************************************************
"Shinji, what is wrong? Your synch rate barely registers." Ritsuko looked worried. Shinji, whose synch rate during the first Angel battle had gone of the chart, was rated right now at .8%. No one knew what was going on. "I am not sure.Ritsukoits just that I feel" Shinji put his head down, as if exhausted.
Misato looked very worried. "Something must really be wrong with him. I guess Ill have to talk to him later." Misato couldnt place what was wrong. She didnt have the time.
"Pattern blue! Its an Angel!"
"What?!!" Shinji looked up, his eyes blazing. He grasped the handles. "Misato, launch me, now!" Misato, not knowing what else to do, launched Eva 01.
Ritsuko, who normally would have overriden Misatos rash order, was too shocked to intrude, considering she was too busy watching Shinjis synch rate jump at record speed. "10%, 20, 40, 60, 78, 90, 180, 340, its off the chart again!!!" Ritsuko gasped as Shinjis Eva 01 rocketed out of the restraints put on it and jumped to the side just before the Angel fired its tentacles at him. Misatos military training took over.
"Shinji! Expand your AT field and head west for another four blocks, there is a supply dump there with a Gatling laser! Get it, now!" Shinji nodded on the screen, and set off. However, when Lt. Maya Ibuki noticed what Shinji was doing, she was fairly shocked. "Dr. Akagi! Unit 01s AT field is inverting and I am detecting massive gravitational fluxes resonating from the Eva!"
****************************************************************************
Inside the Eva, the Pilot of Unit 01 decided to access his full arsenal. Well, as much as this Eva can take. Knowing full well that the Eva could never channel all of the energies at his disposal, the Pilot decided to push the outside of the envelope a little. "Relax, Ritsuko. By inverting the AT field, I can create a gravity field that will allow me much more agility and defense than the best AT field." Shinji floated off the ground without using the Evas jets, another benefit of having your own gravitational field. Misato, who could recover first, being in military mode and all, paid it no mind and vowed to ask him how much he really knew about the Eva.
"Shinji! The Angel will be able to get an easy shot at you! And why havent you taken the Gatling laser yet?!! Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Misato was yelling at record levels, reaching 98 decibels and screaming her lungs out. The reply from Unit 01 was certainly calmer. "Misato, referring to your question, I have every intention of living. I have not served my full use to humanity. The Angel has no chance."
With that, Unit 01 threw itself at the Angel, smashing it to the ground. Well, to be more precise, the gravitational field slammed into the Angel, smashing it to the ground at a force of 2000 Earth Gs of force. Not even Angels have that much strength. The Angel was smashed between the thick titanium of NERVs defense plating, and a very powerful teenager. The laws of physics gave the decision to the human, and the Angel was crushed to a thickness of about four centimeters. Eva 01, slowly letting his gravitational field shunt away, stepped back to the cage, and waited for Misato to have him brought down.
****************************************************************************
"You specifically disobeyed my orders to retrieve the weapon, and expand your AT field, Pilot Ikari." Misato sat across from her charge in the NERV debriefing room, while Gendo looked on through a camera feed into the "eternally so scary that the custodians who clean it had to draw lots to see who would be the poor sap who had to clean it, as if the exorcist was seated under the desk" office, and stared at what his son had become. He does not fit the plan. He must be dealt with after the Angels are defeated. The Pilot of Unit 01 stared at Misato with a look of calm, orderly calmness, as well as a touch of rebellion in his eyes.
"My purpose here is not to obey orders or pilot the Eva, Captain Katsuragi. My purpose here is to defeat Angels. If possible, with minimum damage to NERV, the Eva, and Tokyo-3, in that order. Am I correct? Well, slugging it out with the Angel would have cost much more electrical energy, more power cells, from both the laser and the Evas power pack, much more damage to the city, and possibly damage to the Eva as well. Also, I did expand my AT field, but converted it into something more useful that what was originally intended. So, according to the facts, I performed quite admirably. I see no reason for disciplinary action for something that was much morepolitically and fiscally sound than what you had in mind, Captain. I do realize that even though her plan was excellent textbook style, it is not safe to believe that the Angels do not have that same textbook." Pilot Ikari looked at a point on the ceiling above and to the right of the Captain, knowing this room had a secret camera system in it, and was staring right at Gendo Ikari, who was wondering how he knew all this.
The Commander gave a slight nod. The committee will not like this discovery. The Eva was not built to have its AT field do that, so he must be able to do it himself, outside the Eva. By himself. Shinji is dangerous. I must get some sort of leverage. Misato nodded. Shinji turned to the door, and walked out. Gendo sat back.
Most dangerous indeed. But something is wrong with him. If I can find and exploit it, he will be mine.

(Terminus, capital planet of the First Foundation. Approximately 10,020 parsecs away from Earth. (33,114 light-years) Mayors Office.)
The mayors secretary looked up at the man standing in the Mayors waiting room, and nodded with a smile. The ambassador to the Second Foundation was getting anxious. How could Blackwood do this? Shinji Ikari was powerful, but not stable enough. The Mayor must know. The secretary saw a blue button on her desk flash, and nodded to the ambassador. The ambassador frantically ran into the Mayors main office, who seemed incredibly calm, considering the situation. The Mayor, looking up from a routine piece of paperwork, smiled.
"What can I do for you, old friend? How are things at Stars end? How is the First Speaker?" The Mayor, who was the first Earth-born mayor, was known for his diplomacy as well as his close, but unknown, connection to the First Speaker of the Second Foundation, who secretly guided the path of the First Foundation, as well as the rest of the galaxy, through the science of psychohistory that only they possessed. The Mayor and First Speaker had been good friends into their teens, but had not talked since Andrew Lovvern had been elected Mayor of the First Foundation and the First Speaker had becomeFirst Speaker. Andrew knew that he did not like to talk about what happened to him before he became First Speaker, hence the name of Crono Blackwood. Andrew knew the symbolism there, but did not go further than that.
The ambassador was blabbering, and Andrew raised a hand. "My dear Ambassador Menchaca, stop spluttering and begin again." The ambassador took a deep breath, and continued. "First Speaker Blackwood has released Second Foundation Earth Military Governor Shinji Ikari into the public! He has Ikari" At that, Ambassador Menchaca stopped, and fell to the ground, unconscious. The Mayor, startled, got up from his desk, when a voice in his head stopped him.
^It is good to see you again, Andrew. Do not worry about him. He is undamaged. I merely sent him to sleep so we couldtalk.^ Andrew chuckled. "We dont see each other for fifteen years, and you resume relations through your mentalic BS? How like you, Crono. Or shall I say your real name" Andrews tongue caught in his mouth as he turned to face the First Speaker, who had the uncanny ability to pop up anywhere in the multiverse simultaneously.
"That is enough, Mayor Lovvern. What is it that you wish to know? I released Ikari into the public because his biological father expected it of him. If I did not, his father and the pathetic little organization SEELE would be onto us quickly. You and I, Andrew. You must understand the implications of what SEELE is attempting. I will not allow another Gaia. Gaia is too dangerous to psychohistory." Crono, ever the mentalic/mathematician/psychologist, kept his control easily. Andrew smirked.
"I may be a bureaucrat, but at least I take matters like this with some...stature that is expected of my rank. Do not worry. If worse comes to worse, I will deploy my warships around Earth and send you a few dozen Cluster troops, alright? I want another Gaia as little as you, Crono. Now go away. I have a headache." Crono chuckled. Both the First and Second Foundations, being over 30,000 years ahead of Earth in physical and mental power, respectively, still could not cure a headache. The First Foundations physicists and doctors, as well as other physical scientists, could not understand the headache, nor the Second Foundations mentalics probe the mind tendrils to fight headaches. It was natures last laugh.
Crono opened the singularity that would take him back to the Second Foundations homeworld of Stars End, or Trantor. "Thank you, Andrew. Shinji will not reveal us. The equations point to something else, though. I will see you laterold friend." Crono stepped into the black hole.
Andrew sat back down in his chair. The Ambassador, who had been forgotten, stirred. Andrew sighed and spoke to no one in particular. "That went over well."
****************************************************************************
Shinji closed the door to his room, and took a black cube out of a suitcase. There were twelve cubes in all, all exactly the same, and filled up the briefcase perfectly. Shinji pressed a button on it, and the entire room lit up in a swirl of mathematical figures and numbers. This was one possible "future". Shinji had been working on this for two years, and still could not get it. The First Speaker had given it to Shinji to analyze and perfect, but Shinji was having problems. He was just about to get started, when the First Speaker "dropped by".
^How is my favorite Earth Military Governor?^ Shinji chuckled. ^I am the only Earth Military Governor. Besides, I am not of the Skartona caste, so technically, I am not military anyway.^ Shinji knew that Crono liked to call him that, and didnt really mind. He wondered about something. The First Speaker never dropped by just to chat. What was going on?
^Quite correct, Shinji. Another one of what this society calls Angels will be "visiting" you tomorrow. The equations state that this Angel has a laser weapon that, while pathetic against the Foundations technology or mentalics, rather powerful against the Evangelion's armor, so ifwhen you get hit, make sure you act like it hurts! Remember, Earth has not seen our power, and hopefully will not for some time. However, Angels are not exactly a crisis, so do not worry about it.
^One more thing, Shinji. If you fail, Hikari Horaki will have to attempt to destroy the Angel in Unit 00, and she has nowhere near the capabilities you have. By the way, our intelligence commander has received the files on Ms. Horaki. I am uploading them to you now.^ Shinji stood still as his brain flooded with images, memories, the general makeup of Hikari Horakis life. Nice girl. Shinji thought. Not exactly the strength of character that is my "type", but nice. Well, I am certainly glad that Sheena did not figure out what I just learned or she would be going on and on again about how privacy should not be invaded, blah, blah, blah. Probably her Christian upbringing. I do not know what the First Speaker sees in heroww! Shinji winced as a shock rippled his brain, and a very angry "wife" of the First Speaker of the Second Foundation entered his mind. ^WHAT.WAS..THAT?!!!^ Shinji sighed. This was going to be a very long night.
****************************************************************************
"Shinji! Wake up, sleepyhead! We are going to have some fun today!" Misato, cheerful as ever, stood at Shinjis doorway, and stared at the young man, who looked like he had just been through a campaign. The effect on anyone who says anything remotely bad about the First Speakers wife, including Crono himself. Shinji thought.
Shinji sat up slowly, and turned towards Misato. "What is it, Misato?" Shinji almost didnt want to answer, considering Misatos glint in her eyes. She didnt give him much of a choice.
"Well, Hikari called last night and I told her about your rather bland taste in clothing, and she and I decided to take you out clothes shopping! So, get dressed! Hikari will be here any second!". Shinji stared in wide eyed shock. Not at Misatos bouncing breasts, but at the fact that they wanted to take him shopping! He had never been clothes shopping with anyone, but the First Speaker had forewarned him of the situation. He recalled that now.
****************************************************************************
(Flashback)
Crono Blackwood, First Speaker of the Second Foundation, looked Shinji in the eyes. "Shinji, at one point during your stay on Earth, you will be confronted with a situation that will involve going to a place with large amounts of people. This may not seem unusual, but the personality lock that I have installed in you for this mission will make you panic whenever large amounts of people are involved. Attempt to retreat, and if you cannot, live with it."
(End Flashback)
****************************************************************************
Shinji backed up against the wall as Misato inched forward. Unfortunately, the wall was did not go as far back as Shinji would have liked, and he was too panicked to quantum tunnel through it. So, Misato grabbed him and Hikari grabbed him, and the trio drove down to the mall, Shinji nearly having an anxiety attack. Hikari was bubbling over.
"This is going to be so fun, Shinji! I just cannot wait to get there! We are going to get you some great clothes, and it is going to be tons of fun! I bet you dont even have any formal clothes, do you?" Shinji nodded, and Misato laughed out loud.
"No he doesnt, Hikari. Trust me. Ive sneaked a peek into his wardrobe. Shinjis idea of formal clothing is a three piece bodysuit, like the one he is wearing now. Same colors, same material. Very boring." Now, Shinji, who was sweating bullets, was even more frightened. He was too frightened to even notice Misatos evil-looking smile. Mentally appealing to the First Speaker for some help, the only reply was ^Sorry Shinji, even I am not powerful enough to mentally squash the womans desire to shop. That is way to far ingrained for even Wanda Seldon herself to do. You are on your own, kid.^ .
****************************************************************************
Luckily for Shinji, the Angels took pity on the poor sap, and decided to invade before he had a heart attack, even though his heart was in better condition than a marathon runner. Misatos cell phone rang, as did Shinjis and Hikaris. "Damn! Shinji, Hikari, it looks like this is going to be your first battle together. An Angel is on its way!" Shinji breathed a sigh of relief. He was saved. At least for now. Misato did a 180 degree turn and went to 110 mph in a record 3.1 seconds, and away they went to NERV.
****************************************************************************
"Eva 00, launch! Eva 01, launch!" Misato ordered, and the two evas rocketed up the pads, and took a look at the Angel. The Pilot of Unit 01 already knew all about this Angel, and moved quickly to avoid the Angels deadly beam. Nearly missing him by three meters, the Angel almost fried the Evas right arm. Shinji dodged along the monolithic skyscrapers of Tokyo-3, and ordered Hikari to do the same.
Misato was definitely not happy. Every time she ordered an Eva to move out, the Angel would fire that damn beam cannon of its at them. It was a standoff. However, the Angel was not that patient, and decided to continue invading NERV in its search for Adam. Out of the bottom of the Angel a large drill came out and slammed into the ground, beginning to drill away at the armor plating of NERV.
The pilot of Unit 01 saw this, and decided to take matters into his own hands. Despite Misatos protests, he ran outside the protection of the building he had hid behind, and balled his fists. The Angel began charging its weapon just a Eva 01 threw a punch at it. Going through the Angel and hitting its core, the Angel knew it did not have much time left. However, the Angel still got its shot off, and fired its beam straight into Unit 01s chest. The Pilot screamed, and fell backwards into a building. The Angel fired its weapon at Eva 01 again and again, while the Eva lay there "defenseless", just as the First Speaker had ordered him to.
Hikari, startling out of her daze brought on by Shinjis suicide attack, grabbed a rifle from a nearby weapons locker and ran towards Shinji just in time to see the Evas head get blasted by the Angels beam weapon. Losing herself in rage for her fallen comrade, Hikari opened up her weapon and easily compounded the damage done by Shinji. The Angel was blasted over 500 meters. The fight was over.
****************************************************************************
Shinji woke up. He knew immediately that something was wrong. Then he realized he couldnt move. He tried again. He sat up, but with much effort and pain. Shinji coughed, and got off the bed. When his legs wouldnt support him, he knew something was definitely wrong. Before he passed out, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror on the opposite wall, or what looked like a mummy.
Misato entered the room. She saw Shinjis bed a tangled mess of blankets, falling off one side. She ran over, only to see an unconscious Shinji sprawled on the floor. She called for the doctor.
****************************************************************************
"Now, dont try to move." Shinji woke up, again, and felt a severe episode of déja vu. He opened his eyes, and saw Misato and Ritsuko to his left, and Hikari to his right. Ritsuko spoke up first. "How are you, Shinji?"
It took Shinji some time to reply. "Like I just got shot by a neuronic whip. Long story. I do not feel well at all. What is my current status?" Misato looked at Ritsuko, who nodded. "Your body is in what we call a "train wreck". Normally it would take you years to recover, but you seem to have a most stubborn and efficient body that can recover more quickly than anything I have ever seen. You should be up and walking in two weeks, and fully recovered in a month, at this rate."
Shinji smiled, a hard thing to do in this case. He knew he could not tell Ritsuko the real reason, and was pleasantly surprised that she did not find it. Having stem cells flying around the body is a wonderful thing. Shinji thought. "Looks like I will not have to take any synch or harmonics tests, considering my condition. At least until the next Angel attacks, anyway. Oh, Hikari. Thanks for saving me after I passed out." Hikari blushed, smiled and nodded. Something came to Shinjis mind. "Misato, if the possibility that I cannot fight arises, I was just wondering when is the Second Child and Unit 02 coming to join us? I do not know that much about her, except what happened to her mother. So, when is she coming?" Ritsuko looked at Misato, who told Shinji the good news.
"Asuka is on her way now, and so is Unit 02. They should be here in two and a half weeks. Aircraft carriers just are not very fast, and it is a long trip from Germany. So, by the time you are able to walk, we will go out and meet them, ok?" Shinji nodded.
Shinji looked at everyone with a smile. "Since I never asked, how did everyone elses day go?"
****************************************************************************
(Two and a half weeks later, on board the UN carrier Over the Rainbow.)
The helicopter touched down, and Misato and Shinji exited. Shinji felt as strong as ever, even though his chest was still damaged, as well as his right arm, and left leg, which all had bandages on them. There was a red-haired girl in a yellow sundress waiting for them. Asuka walked up to Shinji and stared up at him into his eyes. "So youre the miraculous third child, huh? You dont look like anything much. Ha, you cant even score anything on a synch test! You can just sit back, because the great Asuka Langley Sorhyu is here! You can just go back home, and live out your life in peace, considering you wont even be needed!" Shinji just stood there, and absorbed all this. He was about to make a reply when the First Speaker reminded him metallically that Asuka was very fragile, emotionally. So, Shinji did the diplomatic thing: he tried to be friendly, while appealing to her ego.
"I am honored to meet the wonderful, beautiful, most talented Ms. Sorhyu. My name, as you most likely know through your genius, is Shinji Ikari. I am associate professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd University, one of the highest academic schools in the world, and I am very pleased to meet you and be your comrade-in-arms." Asuka, whose ego rose about four notches, took the compliment with overswelled pride.
"Its good to know your place, third child. And I have the first true Eva, after all. Come on, Ill show you!" Asuka grabbed Shinjis unbandaged arm, and was about to drag him off, when a voice stopped them. "Should we not sit down and talk first?" Kaji came out of the shadows, and winked at Misato, who facefaulted.
****************************************************************************
As Misato, Kaji, Shinji, and Asuka were walking towards the lounge, Asuka glanced at Shinji Ikari a few times and wondered what to think about him. Asukas thoughts, while normally arrogant and ordered, seemed rushed and garbled. What is it about this baka? He is supposed to be shy, but hes incredibly confident at the same time. Confident, just like my Kaji. I suppose thats one good thing about him. Third Child also looks like hes been working out. Probably a stupid jock. Wait a minutedidnt he say that hes some kind of professor? Oh well, that doesnt matter. Hes probably still some kind of hentai, just like all boysexcept Kaji, that is. Im still the best Eva pilot in the world, so it doesnt matter what he is. Hes just a stupid little baka. But at least hes cute Asuka smiled as she glanced back at Shinji.
Shinji, on the other hand, was trying not to laugh out loud at the position he was in. Misato was thinking about whether she should punch Kaji or kiss him, which was giving Shinji immense satisfaction listening in everyones thoughts, but due to Shinjis personality lock, he couldnt smile because of it.
****************************************************************************
"So, is Misato still wild in bed?" Kaji, ever the subtle one, asked the question. Shinji chuckled, and was about to reply, when a very angry Sheena El-Alfy jumped into his head and told him that he better not do that, or else. Shinji gulped, and decided to act embarrassed, but he didnt have to, since all the attention was on a very angry Misato, who was ranting about something or other. Shinji didnt have much time to enjoy this, since he was being dragged to the Eva cage.
"This is the first true Eva. The first production model. Isnt it perfect? Say something, third child! Baka doesnt know when to appreciate a good piece of machinery." Asuka beamed. Shinji was about to reply, when warning klaxons went off.
"Well, Asukait looks like you will have a shot at your first Angel." Shinji smiled, as the aforementioned Angel came speeding towards them
To be continued

Authors notes: I am done! YES! How do you like Genetic Lessons: Battle? Its longer, but I had lots of stuff to cover. I tried to keep Asukas persona the same. BTW, I tried to bring out a little more information about the First Speaker and the Foundations, how did you like that? I would just like to thank my beta reader, Worldmage, who seems to be a prereader for lots of Eva fics. If you have anything you need info on or just want to tell me something, just review this fic or email me at
